Photo Gadget of the Week: Cloak Bag

A recent article on our site, Beyond Your Average Travel Itinerary, introduced me to something I didn’t even realize existed. The Cloak Bag.

Meant for the DSLRs of the world, this bag looks like a great handy item to have should you be planning on heading out on a trip anytime soon. By the look of it, most people will think you are only carrying a simple satchel and not try to target you because of the more expensive item you have hidden inside.

All camera functions appear to be accessible through the side slits, and zip up back. This allows you to be able to take your photo quickly and inconspicuously (well until your fellow travels wonder why you are putting a satchel up to your eye and deem you certifiable)

The only major downfall I see is no quick release system to go from bag to no bag. Your locked into the bag by a screw and have to remove it every time you want to take it out. On the other hand, if that is an unsavory place, it probably won’t be frequent.

The Cloak bag sells on their site for a modest $49 and only comes in two different colors.

My suggestion to Cloak Bag, add some different styles, colors and put false tag names on the outside, other than that the Cloak Bag is a pretty cool item to consider when taking a trip.

Even to Detroit.

Here’s a video of the cloak bag:
